Week 5 Recap: Winners & Losers
Winners
Bud Fox got back on track with a perfect week and is getting back into the mix in the East….Gordon Bombay surged to the top of the North after a $500 Week 5….Rick Moranis went 3-for-4 on his bets last week to take a commanding lead of the South Division….And in the West, Chris B. Corey and Babe both hit all of their bets to cause a three way tie for the division lead with The Notorious ABT.
Losers
The East continued its dismal 2018 season. Week 5 included Karl Farbman coming back down to earth, with Judge Smails, Patrick Bateman, and Shecky all joining him, with each losing $500….OJ went 1-for-5 and lost control of the North, but it’s nothing compared to Larisa Oleynik‘s season so far. One win after five weeks….Face is 2-for-14 on the season and continues to rack up fines. Waldo Gerlado Faldo and Thine also went winless this week….And Don Mattingly dropped $500 and slid farther back in the West. Time to use a wild card bet? (Still not one used this season thus far…)
Week 4 Recap: Winners & Losers
Winners
In the East, Karl Farbman only won $100 but extended his lead on the rest of the division….OJ takes the lead in the North with a +$200 week. Blossom Russo also bounced back from a tough start to the year with a perfect week….Rick Moranis and Yaz both surged to the top of the South division standings….And The Notorious ABT was perfect in Week 4 and takes the top spot in the West.
Losers
Patrick Bateman lost $500 and now has an uphill battled in the beleaguered East Division. The People’s Champ had some momentum but lost $500 as well…Dr. Oge dropped $500 and might be thinking wild card bet considering his standing in the North….Face had another rough week and is in a huge hole a quarter of the way through the season….And in the West, Bayonnaise dropped $500 to fall down to the cellar.
Week 3 Recap: Winners & Losers
Winners
In the East, Karl Farbman continues to roll with another perfect week….Gordon Bombay and OJ surged to the top of the North standings with $500 weeks….Neon Boudeaux crept closer to the lead in the South with a solid week, while Waldo Geraldo Faldo got back into the thick of it with a flawless Week 3….And in the West, Kiko Garcia made up a big deficit to grab the division lead.
Losers
Shecky’s late bets and poor picks led to a disappointing Week 3….T-Ferg lost the lead in the North and lost $500 as well, but it could be worse. He could be Larisa Oleynik….Face sunk to the cellar in the South, losing $600….And Bayonnaise dropped $500, falling into a last place tie with The Big Hurt in the West.
Week 2 Recap: Winners & Losers
Winners
This section is a lot smaller this time around after a rough Week 2….Karl Farbman stayed perfect and is atop the East standings after two weeks….In the North, T-Ferg won $300 and pushed his way to first place in the division….Rick Moranis only won $100 in Week 2, but it was enough to seize the lead in the South….And Babe had another perfect week to open up a big lead in the West.
Losers
The FMFL was a collective -$6,500 in Week 2 with 14 franchises losing $500 or more….In the East, Bud Fox, Judge Smails, Mr. Marbles, and The Beard of Zeus all went down in flames….Chalky Studebaker and Larisa Oleynik lost $500 as well. Blossom Russo didn’t even bet, so she lost $600 (not the worst week to miss bets in hindsight, considering what the rest of the league did)….In the South, Donnie Jeffcoat, Face, Thine, and Waldo Geraldo Faldo all lost $500. Bonus points for Face and Thine, who each went 0-for-5 on a five-teamer….And Bayonnaise, Kenny Powers, and The Big Hurt all dropped $500, too. The Big Hurt went 0-for-4.
Week 1 Recap: Winners & Losers
Winners
Week 1 was kind to many FMFL franchises, including a trio in the East, Bud Fox, Karl Farbman, and Patrick Bateman, who started the season out with a perfect week….In the North, Chalky Studebaker, jumped out to the lead, but has a host of franchises on his tail….Donnie Jeffcoat was the only perfect franchise in the South, and for now enjoys the top spot….And Babe, Bayonnaise, and defending champ Kiko Garcia share the West lead, each with a $500 week.
Losers
It’s difficult to call franchises that had -$100 weeks “losers”, but that’s what Judge Smails and The Beard of Zeus were in Week 1 as the rest of the East thrived….Larisa Oleynik started 2018 on the wrong foot with a winless first frame….Boss Hardgian, Face, and Waldo fell behind in the South….And in the West, Don Mattingly was the lone franchise with a negative week.
