Week 6 Recap: Winners & Losers
Winners
A big Week 5 for The People’s Champ, who was perfect and extends his lead in the East to $600. Also in the division, not put out to pasture just yet, both Chris B. Corey and Luther Lavay won $500 to breath a little life in their seasons….The Notorious ABT keeps plugging along in the North, winning $300 and extending his lead on the rest of the division….In the South, Karl Farbman only won $100 in Week 5, but now enjoys a $400 cushion on the rest of the pack. Also of note, Neon Boudeaux won $500 but needs to make up more ground in the coming weeks….Babe made a big move in the West, closing the gap after winning both his bets.
Losers
Larisa Oleynik and Donnie Jeffcoat had another rough week, both dropping $500 and slipping down the East Division standings….In the North, oy vey, OJ….Boss Hardigan suffered a tough blow in Week 5, losing $300 and his grip on the South Division, for now….And in the West, Dr. Oge lost $500 yet again, staying put in the cellar.

Winners
In the East, Yaz won $100. In the North, The Notorious ABT won $100. In the South, Waldo Geraldo Faldo won $100. In the West, Don Mattingly was the big winner, winning $300.
These four were the only franchises that made money in Week 4.
Losers
To say Week 4 was a bloodbath is a vast understatement. I believe this may have been the worst week in league history. No team won $500. As a league, the FMFL lost $9,900, or an average of $309 per franchise. If you lost less than $300, you essentially won this week. This is a scar on the league that will not heal quickly. I am disappointed in each and every one of you. Buckle up for the losers list:
In the East, Karl Hungus and Donnie Jeffcoat led the way, with both losing their wild card bets and $1,000 for the week. Other casualties in the division were Chris B. Corey, Patrick Bateman, and Luther Lavay, who each lost $500. Going up North, Blossom Russo, Kimmy Gibbler, Kenny Powers, and Mr. Marbles all lost $500. In the South, Neon Boudeaux lost his wild card bet on his beloved Falcons. Kiko Garcia and Rick Moranis also lost $500 on the week. And in the West, Face and The Beard of Zeus dropped $500.

Winners
Both Patrick Bateman and The People’s Champ won $500 in Week 3, and they jumped up from fourth and fifth in the East to now sitting in first and second….The lead changed hands in the North as well, as Blossom Russo went perfect and vaulted herself to the top. Also of note, The Notorious ABT won $500 and is right on her heels….Boss Hardigan and Karl Farbman were both perfect, creating a three-way tie for the lead in the South. Rick Moranis was flawless as well, hoping to turn around a rough start….And in the West, Gordon Bombay increases his lead on the rest of the pack (and the league for that matter). Babe won $500 and in now in third place.
Losers
It was a brutal week in the East, as the top two franchises, Larisa Oleynik, and Chris B. Corey, both lost $500 and tumbled down the standings. Yaz also came up winless and will need to turn it around….Both Kenny Powers and Mr. Marbles came up empty in Week 3 and have some ground to make up in the North….All the franchises in the South won money this week, so if there has to be a loser, we’ll turn it The Big Hurt in the cellar….After winning his wild card the week before, Shecky dropped $500 and out of the mix of contenders in the West.

Winners
Larisa Oleynik won her wild card bet on the Browns and vaulted to the top of the East standings….It was a ho-hum week in the North, but Kimmy Gibbler won $300 and was the biggest riser in Week 2….Kiko Garcia maintains his lead on the rest of the South, but many are bunched closed….And hay was made in the West with Gordon Bombay, Face, Judge Smails and Shecky all winning their Cleveland wild card bets. Gordon jumps to the top of the division standings as a result. Not to be forgotten, The Beard of Zeus won another $500 the old-fashioned way and is perfect through two weeks.
Losers
Luther Lavay flew too close to the sun in Week 2, losing his Titans wild card bet and dropping $1,000 in the process….Not a ton of negative movement in the North, but OJ has to be at a loss for words after a tough start to the season….The Big Hurt went winless and plummeted to the bottom of the South….And in a week that saw a rising tide lift all boats in the West, Don Mattingly was the only franchise in the division that lost money.

Winners
Week 1 got off to a quick start in the East, with most of the division doing well, led by journeyman Chris B. Corey and the two rookies Luther Lavay and Karl Hungus, with all three recording perfect weeks….In the North, Bud Fox and Kenny Powers weren’t quite perfect, but share the early lead in the division….Reigning two-time champ Kiko Garcia got off to a flawless start to lead the way in the South….And The Beard of Zeus has a nice early cushion in the West after a perfect week.
Losers
Yaz finds himself in an early hole in the East, but there’s a mere 16 weeks to go….Mr. Marbles went winless in Week 1 and is in the basement of the North Division….Not the best start for Waldo Geraldo Faldo, who is bringing up the rear in the South after a -$500 week….And Dr. Oge also had a rough start to the season.
