Playoff Races Through Week 16

by The Executive Director

East
Patrick Bateman has a $500 lead and still has his wild card bet available, so he is in the driver’s seat. Face still has a chance to catch him whether Bateman uses his wild card bet or not.

North
Kimmy Gibbler has a nice cushion on Shecky, leading by $1,600, but both franchises have their wild card bets left. Kimmy could be going for the overall title as well, which could open the door for Shecky to make an epic comeback after a rough December.

South
Neon Boudeaux has the most comfortable division lead with one week to go. He’s up $1,000 and no one trailing has their wild card bet left that is chasing him for the division. He needs merely one correct pick in Week 17 to lock up the South.

West
Kenny Powers is holding onto his lead, but a surging Rick Moranis is lurking. Rick also has his wild card bet on the table for Week 17 and will surely pull the trigger.

Overall Title
It will be a crazy Week 17 for sure for the big regular season prize. Neon holds the lead, but with Kenny Powers right behind him. Then the next three franchises, Patrick Bateman, Kimmy Gibbler, and Rick Moranis all have wild card bets.

Wild Card Spots
The top six non-division winners make the postseason. Face has secured a spot in the playoffs. Rick Moranis could be vulnerable if he loses his wild card bet, but if not, he’ll be in the playoffs. Boss Hardigan and The Notorious ABT hold strong positions with one week to go. Chris B. Corey and Thine hold the final two spots, but several franchises are right behind them, including Shecky and Donnie Jeffcoat, who will be using their wild card bets in Week 17. Several others are in the mix and will hope to win $500 and that others fall back.

Week 15 Recap: Winners & Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

Face cashed in big time in Week 15, winning $1,000 and surging to the lead in the East….In the North, Kimmy Gibbler somehow widened her lead, despite betting a game with no line….Neon Boudeaux had a big week, leapfrogging Boss Hardigan for the South lead and also has his paws on the overall lead as well with just a fortnight remaining….And Kenny Powers has a little breathing room in the West, but some wild card bets are still out there with the other franchises chasing him.

Losers

Bud Fox dropped his wild card his playoff hopes went with it. Also in the East, Chris B. Corey was fined and lost $600, moving him from strong postseason position to needing some help in the final two weeks….Bayonnaise missed the bet deadline and might have missed his chances at a January run this season. Also of note, Shecky lost $400 and will need a wild card win to have any chance at a North Division crown….Boss Hardigan lost 4 of his 5 bets in Week 15 and now trails in the South Division race….And in the West, Donnie Jeffcoat slipped a bit, but still has his wild card bet remaining.
